Simon Barnes

Bristol SiTT Coordinator

Simon first became interested in meditation in 1990 and has been practicing for the last 20 years. He trained at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University and has a Masters in teaching Mindfulness-based Approaches.

Other training includes the Mindfulness in Schools Project certification, Breathworks Teacher Training for people with chronic pain and illness, the Finding Peace in a Frantic World curriculum and Oxford Mindfulness Centre’s Teaching in the Workplace programme.

Simon has taught taster workshops, bespoke programmes, in-house training and 8-week mindfulness courses since 2012. He also works on a 1-2-1 basis.

He is a founder member of the Bristol Mindfulness cooperative, which meets regularly under the auspices of the SiTT movement to maintain and promote integrity in teaching.

Simon is registered with the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches and abides by their Good Practice Guidelines.
