Gus Castellanos, M.D. is a retired Neurologist who attended his first MBSR course in 1998. In 2009, he began teaching and researching mindfulness-based programs. He has taught hundreds of programs, classes, and workshops throughout South Florida and, since the pandemic, virtually. He is an adjunct instructor at Nova Southeastern University, Ft Lauderdale, Fl, where he teaches and researches mindfulness.
Gus is certified by the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness and has trained with Amishi Jha (Mindfulness Based Attention Training) and with Eric Garland (Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement). Since 2011 he has facilitated weekly mindfulness sessions at a Flordia state prison. He is the mindfulness trainer for GEN2050, serving under-resourced teens and inspiring Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Environmental Stewardship, STEM, and Social Responsibility.
